Do you have ink prints of a loved one’s fingerprint?

This style of charm is made from an ink print of the fingerprint, not a 3-dimensional putty impression. It gives a flatter finish with a more engraved style of appearance.
A beautiful and Impressive piece of keepsake jewellery, your Fingerprint Necklace is created using an ink print of your loved one’s true fingerprint. Note that on a small charm the print covers the full surface area of the charm shape.
You if need to take the fingerprint we can post out an Ink Fingerprint Kit, or I can use an ink print that you may already have, or maybe I already have your prints stored safely here at the studio.

The ink print must be clear with good definition to become a successful charm. If you’re not sure, get in touch first and I can tell you if the print you have is suitable. It should look similar to this…It needs to be as clear as possible.
The front of the charm: The front of the charm will have fingerprint that you supply us.
The reverse side of the charm: The reverse side can be engraved with a name, date or message (up to 6 characters)
Necklace Style Choice
Oxidised sterling silver makes deeper parts of the fingerprint darker, usually black but the process can give browns/blues too. The silver on the surface remains shiny.
If you prefer not to oxidise the contrast is more subtle.

Notes about fingerprints: Children develop fingerprints at different ages. We wouldn’t recommend ink fingerprint jewellery for young children. The detail needs to be visible to the eye to have any chance of working well. Usually older children and adults have good prints. Memorial print success can vary using the kit – putty fingerprints are a better option. For children under 12 months, you might prefer the hand and footprint range. Or take a print from the palm or sole of the foot to capture more detail.
All charms are completed with a fully soldered jump ring made from sterling silver.
